About Dr. Tara Crumpler
Registered Psychologist | Assessment Lead | Clinical Supervisor
Tara completed her Ph.D. in School and Applied Child Psychology at the University of Calgary. Tara has extensive experience providing psychoeducational assessment services in elementary schools, high schools, and in private practice settings. She completed her Doctoral Internship in Calgary, working at a not-for-profit clinic specializing in assessment and treatment of ADHD, learning disabilities, and social/emotional concerns.
Tara enjoys working with children and takes pride in helping them to identify and overcome their challenges. She provides comprehensive psychoeducational assessments and evidence-based recommendations for interventions and strategies aimed at meeting the individual’s specific needs and supporting them towards success. She works collaboratively with children, their parents, and their schools to achieve a balanced perspective of the child’s profile of strengths and challenges, and to implement practical intervention strategies. Tara provides assessment and consultation for children, youth, and young adults in the areas of ADHD, learning difficulties, giftedness, social/emotional difficulties, and behavioural concerns. She draws upon positive psychology, developmental and behaviourism perspectives; and strives to implement a resilience-based approach in her work.
Tara specializes in neurodiversity and autism assessment. She provides supervision in formal and general assessment for doctoral interns and practicum students at Little Oaks.
